How to change Window Color of SAP GUI 730

Have you ever faced this situation?
-          Wanted to test in development system, but tested in test system and wondering why no expected results are coming!
-          More worse, you feel you are working in development/test system and make certain changes and save it, just to realize you saved in Production System! (Fortunate where change access is restricted.) J
This happens when we have opened multiple windows of multiple system and not able to realize instantly in which system we are working in.

To overcome this, SAP has come back with the old solution of changing window color of different systems in its GUI 730. GUI 720 was deprived of this feature.

Here is how to utilize this feature of changing GUI color for different systems. Its suggested to keep a highlighting color to Production System, if you are a Consultant or Developer.

Step 1:
Select ‘Customize Local Layout’ option or press ALT+F12.

Step 2:
Go to Options in the Dropdown Menu.

Step 3:
Select different colors from the ‘Color Settings for SAP System’ for the GUI.

Step 4:
Apply the changes, though the changes will be effective only from next session.

I hope you guys will find this simple tip useful. J

  1. The solution works for different SID (and for different clients too). How to set different colors when we have systems with the same SID (running on different servers)?
